Copper is being switched off from 2025.

Our old copper network is reaching end-of-life and the new £50m investment from Manx Telecom in Fibre is almost complete.

We know you might have questions, and some customers may need additional support in transitioning to Fibre, so welcome to our Future Ready Team.

The team are on hand to help you every step of the way.

The Future is Fibre

As the Copper Network becomes end-of-life, Fibre is the technology that will replace it. But it's far more than just your average upgrade.

Fibre is more efficient:

Fibre networks are significantly more efficient and environmentally friendly than copper, using up to 85% less power to send data.

Fibre is more reliable

The Fibre network has a lower signal degradation over long distances, will be immune to electromagnetic interference and during adverse weather conditions contributing to fewer connection dropouts and outages.

Fibre is faster

Fibre optic cables allow for significantly faster speeds and higher bandwidth to cope with increasing personal and business demands.

Now that's comforting. Easy Fibre Order.

One phone call. One price. Everything you need. Installation, router and unlimited lifetime home support all included.

Move to Fibre the Manx way, talk to the Future Ready Team today on 626626.

WHEN WILL THIS HAPPEN?

The switch-off of the copper network will begin in 2025, starting in Zones 1 and 2. Zones are based on which towns and villages are served by exchanges. Each zone will have 12 months’ notice to make the necessary changes with their provider. Your current provider will contact you to inform you of your switch-off date.

Dates for each zone will be announced gradually as the programme progresses, with the entire copper network being switched off by 2029.

Please note: Due to geographical factors, some properties on the same street, may be served by different exchanges which could affect their switch-off timelines. You’ll receive direct updates from your provider if your area is impacted.
