International Women's Day 2024: Celebrating Women in Tech with Sarah Allen

In celebration of International Women's Day 2024, we're continuing our Women in Tech campaign by speaking to Sarah Allen, a Product Coordinator at Manx Telecom. With 10 years of experience in product management and five years on the buying teams for national retailer Next, Sarah has made a significant impact in her career.

When asked about the aspect of her job that she loves the most, Sarah speaks about the combination of the analytical, financial, numbers-driven side of shaping a range, combined with the creativity of choosing a commercial yet exciting product range to market. She says, "Seeing good sales come from it is always a bonus!"

As a woman in a predominantly male industry, Sarah believes that it's important to make the tech and telecommunications industry more diverse and inclusive. She adds, "Our approach to work, priorities, the way we think, it can all be different, and this diversity can help drive real progress.

In addition to her insights on diversity and inclusion in the tech industry, Sarah also shares her proudest accomplishment in her current role. Sarah takes pride in seeing incredible sales growth following the launch of the iPhone 15 last year. "We managed to get a huge amount of stock in this year so even more customers could get their hands on the new release this Christmas," she says.

To young women thinking about a career in tech, Sarah has a message: "Your experience from other industries can still be of great use in the tech industry! Don't be scared to make the move as the company can learn as much from you, as you can from the company."
