Manx Telecom announces telephone support for local charity Live at Home
Manx Telecom is delighted to announce further support for local charity Live at Home through sponsorship of its Intelligent Voice (VOIP) telephone service and broadband for the next three years.
Live at Home provides a vital support service to older people to help them live independently in their own homes and alleviate loneliness. While it also operates clubs and visiting befriending schemes, much of its work relies on the telephone and ensuring that there is always someone clients can call for help, advice, or simply to have a chat.

Manx Telecom previously helped Live at Home during the first COVID lockdown by quickly setting up a virtual switchboard solution that allowed staff to operate the charity’s services remotely from their homes.
Gary Lamb, CEO of Manx Telecom, said, “Live at Home does a wonderful job of keeping some of the more vulnerable people in our community connected.
“Whether it’s providing help and advice on the practicalities of living independently, or simply the comfort, reassurance and enjoyment of a regular social conversation, Live at Home and its team of volunteers enrich the lives of those who may otherwise find themselves in a difficult and lonely situation.
“As a business that understands the importance of connectivity to our community, we are very pleased to be able to help Live at Home with this financial support through until 2025.”
Jackie Bridson, CEO of Live at Home, said Manx Telecom’s sponsorship would make a significant difference to the charity and its 500 service users.
“We are absolutely thrilled by this fantastic gesture from Manx Telecom,” she said. “The telephone lines are absolutely key to providing our services and this sponsorship means we do not need to worry about funding them for the next few years.
“Manx Telecom has always been a great supporter of community initiatives on our Island and I am sure all our clients and volunteers will join me in saying thank you for helping Live at Home continue to make a positive difference in so many people’s lives.”
