Manx Telecom gifts Hospice fundraising team "golden phone number"

Manx Telecom has provided the fundraising team at Hospice Isle of Man with a premium rate “golden number” – an easily memorable phone number – free of charge to help people keep in touch more easily.

It’s the latest initiative in Manx Telecom’s ongoing support of Hospice, which began with fundraising over £70k for the new Hospice building back in 2007 and has more recently included funds to install a water fountain at the Rebecca House memorial garden.

The number – 672222 – is now in use by the fundraising team and will feature on Hospice promotional material to help the public become familiar with it.

Anne Mills, Chief Executive of Hospice Isle of Man, said, “The donation of the golden phone number is a wonderful gesture by Manx Telecom. Their support over the years has been wholeheartedly appreciated by everyone here at Hospice, and we look forward to seeing the relationship continue to flourish into the future. To ensure we can provide our services completely free to our patients and their families, we need to raise over £5 million each year, so anything that makes our fundraising easier is very welcomed.”

Manx Telecom CEO, Gary Lamb, said the company was delighted to help Hospice with the complimentary golden number, commenting: “We have a long and valued relationship with Hospice and are great supporters of the inspiring way they work with patients and their friends and families to really make a positive difference at such challenging times in their lives. We hope the new number will enable the team to more easily attract donations and fundraising ideas for the future.”
