Manx Telecom – Directory Enquiry Service 

Manx Telecom provides a wide range of Directory Enquiry services via multiple access options. 

Free to use Isle of Man Directory Enquires for both business and residential listings are available in the printed phonebook delivered to all IOM properties or online at www.isleofman.com. 

From 30th August 2023, calls to 118 695 will be free on all MT tariffs but callers will receive the below message: 

“A wide range of local, national and international Directory Enquiry services have now been made available for short code dialling over our network. The most popular Directory Enquiry service numbers are as follows; 

For Isle of Man, National and the Channel Islands, dial 118 500 

For UK National Directory Enquiries, dial 118 118 

For International Directory Enquiries, dial 118 505

You have not been charged for this call.” 

The 198 Special Assistance service for Directory Enquiries, available to customers who need help obtaining numbers, for example those who are registered blind, remains unaffected as part of this change.

Service charges inc VAT. (1) Calls are charged by Fixed Fee and Timed Duration where the fixed fee and the duration charge apply from the start of the call. (2) Calls charged by Fixed Fee and Timed Duration where the fixed fee is the charge for the first 60 seconds of the call or part thereof, and the duration charge applies following the first 60 seconds. (3) Calls charged by Timed Duration only. (4) Calls charged by Fixed Fee only.

In addition to these charges when you call any of the directory enquiry services listed you will be charged an Access Charge as follows;

• Calls from Fixed Lines: 20p (inc VAT) per minute

• Calls from Pay Monthly mobiles: 30p (inc VAT) per minute

• Calls from Pre-pay Mobile: 43p (inc VAT) per minute

A minimum call charge applies of 30p per call. Thereafter call time is debited in 10p increments as per the charge rate of the number called. Costs include VAT @ 20%.
