- FibreTrack
Getting Fibre just got easier, and cheaper, for properties with ‘Buried Cable’ exceptions.
FibreTrack eliminates the need for extensive digging and disruption providing a cheaper alternative to older ducting methods.
For properties with buried cables, this approach ensures a smooth transition to fibre connectivity without the traditional expenses associated with infrastructure upgrades.
The process for moving to Fibre remains the same as before.
- If Fibre is available to your home, you place an order as normal.
- A survey will then be carried out on your property.
- If your property is found to have buried cables, the planner will then be able to assess if FibreTrack is suitable for your property.
If FibreTrack can be used, you will have two options:
- install the FibreTrack yourself
- receive a quote to have the FibreTrack installed as part of the Fibre installation process.
If you choose to install yourself, follow the instructions on this guide.
If you choose to have FibreTrack installed as part of your Fibre installation, a quote will be provided with the option to either pay monthly or pay outright.
What is FibreTrack?
FibreTrack distinguishes itself from conventional 'ducting' solutions by offering a streamlined installation process that eliminates extensive digging or disruption. The system employs Drop Tubing, a slender, reinforced 7mm diameter tube that can be surface-mounted, providing a direct, non-intrusive route for fibre cables to connect from the primary fibre network to the property.
Why might FibreTrack not be suitable?
Fibretrack may not be suitable for a property with a hard finished surface type which extends the full width of the property frontage and has no alternative way to attach the fibre such as a wall, fence, or kerb. The planners will be able to advise on this at the survey stage and will be able to suggest alternatives.
